Kayla Miller earned first place and Bethany Zimmerman earned second place in the annual America and Me essay contest at Engadine Consolidated Schools. Both are in eighth grade.

Both students received award certificates for their achievements. As the first place winner, Miss Miller's name will be engraved on a plaque for permanent display at the school.

The contest is sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance.
