Philip Earl Smith, 71, of St. Ignace passed away Monday, May 29, 2006, in St. Ignace.

He was born December 15, 1934, in Gould City to Louis Henry and Mabel Irene (nee Rathbun) Smith, the eighth of 11 children.

Mr. Smith is survived by two brothers and their families, Howard and Holly Smith of Gould City and Richard Smith of Adrian; three sisters and their families, Lorraine Leveille of Manistique, Marjorie and Max Pearson of Lansing, and Harriet and Keith O'Neil of Mackinaw City. He is further survived by Kathy Peterson and his family at Pleasant View Adult Foster Care, where he resided.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Smith and Leo Smith; and three sisters, Betty Vallier, Dona Werner, and Agnes Cooper.

Private graveside services will be held at the Naubinway Cemetery.
