With less than three weeks before a scheduled change of command at Coast Guard Station St. Ignace, Senior Chief Boatswain's Mate William Johnson took time to show appreciation, Tuesday, May 30, to the Mackinac County Sheriff's Department marine patrol division for their cooperative relationship.

In recognition of their work together in search and rescue events, he presented Mackinac County Sheriff Scott Strait and Senior Marine Deputy Tom Sherlund a plaque, Homeland Security lapel pins, and a photograph of a search effort they had worked on together.

BMCS Johnson will be heading to Coast Guard Station Quillayute River near LaRush, Washington.

BMCS Jeffrey Mallory, who is coming from Station Manistee, is set to take over the command of the local station Friday, June 16.
