Verne Shoberg

Verne L. Shoberg of Globe, Arizona, was a pharmacist who owned and operated a drug store in Sault Ste. Marie and in Cedarville. He passed away at his home Sunday, June 4, 2006.

He was born in Sault Ste. Marie October 4, 1934, to Tigner J. and Frances Lipsett Shoberg. He was graduated from Pickford High School in 1952 and attended Lake Superior College. He was graduated from Ferris State College in 1958.

Mr. Shoberg owned and operated a drug store in Sault Ste. Marie and a pharmacy in Cedarville. He worked in other pharmacies throughout Michigan and for the past 13 years in Globe.

Mr. Shoberg is survived by his children, Clifford and Laura Shoberg of Kinross, and Sandra Somerville of Sharpsburg, Georgia, six grandchildren Amber, Amanda, and Audrey Shoberg and Kyle, Mike, and Kara Somerville, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by a brother and his family, Wayne and Johnette Shoberg of Globe, three nephews, Russell, Tom, and John Shoberg, and one niece, Frances Shoberg.

No service is planned. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
