Kara Hurban of Pickford, a student at Lake Superior State University, was among 21 students chosen to serve as Honor Ushers for the university's commencement exercises in May. Honor Ushers must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or better.

She is the daughter of Frederick and Joan Hurban, and is studying athletic training.
