Joe Brown Signs To Play Golf at Ferris State
Joe Brown, with parents Ben and Claudette Brown, signs his National Letter of Intent to Ferris State University before the awards banquet at LaSalle High School Monday, June 5. Joe Brown, four-time Dan MacDonald Memorial Most Valuable Golfer at LaSalle High School, signed a national letter of intent before the athletic awards ceremony to study and play golf at Ferris State University (FSU) Monday, June 5.
He is the son of Ben and Claudette Brown of St. Ignace.
Brown earned Division 4 allstate honors during his junior and senior seasons, placed first in the district and regional state tournaments, and finished fourth and second in the individual state finals the last two years.
The former Straits Area Conference Player of the Year received All-SAC honors the last three seasons while the leading the Saints this season with a 37.7 nine-hole average with low score of 33. He tallied low 18-hole score of 69 and averaged 79.
Brown is undecided about his major at FSU.
