The front porch seems to be the place to be on these warm humid days. There seems to be a breeze all the time. Front porch visitors this week were Ann Meier of Lima, Ohio, Anne and John Ryan of Tecumseh, and Bob Flora.
Andrea Geralt of Birmingham and Wayne Chapple of Barefoot Bay, Florida, were guests of Joe and Sharon Chalmers. Time was spent celebrating a birthday and golf, golf, golf.
Jackie Rippett joined her daughter, Denise and granddaughter, Kara, for a girls weekend in Marquette for the Arts on the Rock art show. This is an annual event for the ladies.
Jim and Ann Dyer traveled to Greenville to spend some time with Ann Wright.
Mike and Lara Gustafson and Kristi and Morgan hosted a pig roast at their home in Brevort on Saturday afternoon. Friends, neighbors, and relatives from far and wide gathered for an afternoon of visiting and eating. Everyone brought their favorite dishes to pass. The food was varied and tasty. There were games and activities for the kids. A good time was had by all.
Ted and Pat Lubutzki will be in Ann Arbor Wednesday for followup tests for Ted.
Sunday passed with time spent on the beach with Bradley, Lucas, and Linnie Gustafson, Amanda and Zach Movalson, Chrissy Movalson and her parents, Pam and Charlie Movalson of Walled Lake, plus Taffy Coffey, Horst and Ingrid Daemmrich, and Lee
Quigley's guests, the Healey family of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It was fun to see the beach filled with people sunning and swimming.
Eric and Kelli Movalson spent Sunday evening at a bed and breakfast on Mackinac Island. Dave and I spent a delightful evening with the grandkids at the beach house. We don't do that too often. We enjoy the activities on the hill.
Lori and Joe Stewart arrived Sunday evening at the home of Lori's mother, Lee Quigley. The Stewarts are from Fort Myers, Florida, and made the trip in two days with Striker and Dodger, the cocker spaniels, making their first trip by auto; they did very well. They slept all the way.
Jim and Jerri Rose have returned home from a trip to Woods, Kansas, to attend the wedding of their granddaughter. It was very hot there. The dogs really suffered with the heat.
The Gustafson family celebrated Lara Gustafson's birthday at John and Carol Watson's cottage on Fishermen's Drive in Brevort.
Beatrice and Jon Zak's home in Plainville experienced some serious flooding when the Cuyahoga River near Cleveland, Ohio, flooded. The first floor of their home had damage.
Pega and John's granddaughter, Danielle Becker of Virginia Beach, was a guest of John and Pega's last week.
Kathy Reid has many hummingbirds at her feeders. She has to replenish her three feeders sometimes as often as three times a day.
Happy anniversary to Willie and Donna LaLonde August 1. Happy birthday to Zach Movalson August 3 and to his uncle, David Movalson, August 8.
