Click your heels three times and say "There's no place like home, there's no place like home," and as beautiful as this country is, there truly is no place like home. Following a week's vacation to visit my sister and brother-in-law, Teri and Roger Sherbrook, in beautiful Wyoming, with a great side trip to view the Grand Tetons and Old Faithful, 3,000 miles later, the "Welcome to Michigan" sign was a great sight to see. Now back to a routine, which isn't all bad.

The Paquin family reunion last weekend at Garnet Park saw family members who had not been in the area for many years. It seems likely everyone had a great time.

The door at Connie and Shine's barely had time to shut this week as an overflow from the Paquin reunion paid a visit there. Among those stopping by were Pam Beasinger of Flint, who also stayed a week with Shine while Evelyn Selby took Connie to a doctor appointment at Mayo Clinic. Other visitors were David and Ruth Johnson and children, Shine's niece, Ada, of Kalkaska, Barb and Joe Nuffese, Gary Paquin and family of Grand Rapids, Donald Bonney, nieces Mary Anne, Betty, and Carol, Shine's son and grandson, Tom and David Paquin, Josh DeFoe and fianc Shannon of Wyandotte, Jean and Wayne Ash, Mike and Sharon Davis, and Shine's brother, Gordon Gill, and his wife of Gould City. They must have run out of daylight before the visiting was done.

The Burgess household seemingly was no less crowded with visitors. Among those guests were Julie and Mike Noteboom. Julie is a former co-worker of Evelyn's from Kalamazoo. Also visiting were Dale's daughter and son-inlaw, Jen and Ken Huyghe and family of Almont, Dave and Sara Hart and family of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Todd and Trish Hart of California. The Livermore annual get together was sandwiched in between. All in all, that's summer.

Butch and Debbie Formolo have enjoyed the company of their daughter, Sherry, and grandchildren Jackie, Kiesa, Curt, and Mikala, all of Gladstone.

Faces from long ago were in church Sunday. The former Louella Varty and her husband, as well as Virginia Johnson, Mildred's daughter, were there. Nice to see them all.

The Fosdick clan traveled to Elk Rapids to celebrate the 90th birthday of Grandma Jessie, who at 90 can run circles around most 50 year olds. Following the celebration, she joined her children for a trip to Canada.

Birthday wishes to Jake Daniel Formolo and Dave Wurster August 14; Don Goudreau and Carol Dyer Orlando August 15; our very own "Superman wanna-be," grandson Jesse Fosdick August 16; a great lady, Andrea Everhart, along with Dylan, Scott, and Megan Formolo August 17; Rick Kerridge August 19; and Billy Belonga August 20. Anniversary wishes, belatedly, to neighbors Ed and Karen Hins August 11, and to Al and Laurie Spencer, great folks from Epoufette, and our nephew and niece, Daryl and Penny Browning, August 19.

Get well wishes to Shelly Bigelow Nowak and all the other folks who still have health issues.
