Micaela Kelso Joins Training Staff at Ferrum College
Micaela Kelso Micaela Kelso, a 2001 graduate of LaSalle High School, has been hired as an assistant athletic trainer at Ferrum College, a NCAA Division III school in southwestern Virginia.
Miss Kelso, 2005 alumnus of Albion College, came to Ferrum from Virginia Military Institute, where she was a graduate assistant with the Keydets athletic training department and completed work on her master's degree in education from the University of Virginia, with emphasis in athletic training.
The former Saints basketball player was a member of the 1999 and 2000 state championship teams.
She received clinical experience as a student athletic trainer at Albion College, completed a general medicine rotation at Parma Medicine, completed summer sports camps at Albion and Marshall High School, served with Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialist Clinic in Jackson and MedSport Rehabilitation Clinic in Ann Arbor, and served as a teaching assistant in the cadaver anatomy lab for two years at Albion.
The daughter of Craig and Marsha Kelso of St. Ignace is certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association and the Great Lakes Athletic Trainer's Association. She is also certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, AED, lifeguard, and Professional Rescuer Instructor.
