Tribal Dancers Honor Tradition at Hessel

Charlene Brisette of Hessel, who served as the head youth female dancer at the 14th Annual Hessel Powwow, shows the spectacular patterns of traditional American Indian regalia Sunday afternoon, August 20. The three-day powwow on the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians powwow grounds north of Hessel, started Friday, August 18, and included dances and traditional ceremonies.
