Cheboygan Area Public Library will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, August 26. Events begin at 10 a.m., with entertainment from authors, musicians, and craftsmen to follow throughout the day. An ice cream social will be held at 3 p.m.

The library completed a major renovation and expansion project, which included the construction of a large addition, making the building four times bigger than before. Added are a 2,200 square foot community room that can seat up to 130 people.

The library is on 100 Pine Street, between Ball and Bailey streets.
