Ruth Macier

Ruth Evelyn Macier of Shelton, Washington, was a former resident of Moran Township who loved dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, and outdoor activities.

Mrs. Macier died August 18, 2006, in Shelton, Washington, at the age of 87.

She was born January 22, 1919, in Detroit to Lee Rea and Anna C. (nee Davidson) Taylor. She married William Macier April 18, 1941 in Detroit. They moved from Detroit to

northern Michigan in the late 1940s and spent winters in Matlacha, Florida, for more than 50 years until Mr. Macier passed away in 1996.

Mrs. Macier moved to Shelton, Washington, two years ago to be near her daughter, Patricia Macier, who survives her.

She is also survived by a niece and her family, Barbara and Mike Thorson of Midland; two nephews and their families, Frank and Betty Swartz of Michigan and Hank and

Ginny Swartz of Pennsylvania; a cousin, Mary Catherine Sheerer of Michigan, and a special friend, Judy Maire of Shelton, Washington.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace Thursday, September 7, at noon.

Burial will be in the Gros Cap Cemetery in St. Ignace.

Arrangements are being made by McComb Funeral Home of Shelton, Washington.
