Ernest Perron Ernest Perron Ernest J. Perron was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War and was a policeman for the city of Sault Ste. Marie for 26 years, retiring as Captain in 1979. Mr. Perron died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, in Petoskey.

He was born December 9, 1928, in Sault Ste. Marie to Theo Phil and Arbutus (nee Kirby) Perron.

He married Elaine Daniels June 17, 1950, at St. Mary's Church of Sault Ste. Marie.

Mr. Perron served in the 1437th Engineering Company of the U.S. Army for 43 years, serving in the Korean War and retiring as First Sergeant.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Elks Lodge, Christopher Columbus Society Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Police, Auxiliary Police, the I-500 Board of Trustees, Hiawatha Law Enforcement, and a member of St. Mary's ProCathedral Church.

Mr. Perron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Perron, a son, Steven Perron of Sault Ste. Marie, a daughter and her family, Rhonda and Dale Hoornstra of Sault Ste. Marie, sisters and their families, Malvenia Cryderman of Fenton, Fran Horka of Sault Ste. Marie, and Marlene and Fred Cearlock of Grand Blanc, and a brother and his family, Clifford and Janet Perron of Brimley. He is survived by grandchildren and their families, Kirstyn and Robert Beaulieu of Sault Ste. Marie, Staci Wilson and Chad Palo of Rudyard, and by great-grandchildren Evan Kyle of Marquette, Emily Wilson of Rudyard, and Brynn Beaulieu of Sault Ste. Marie. Mr. Perron is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Daniels of Cedarville, brothers-in-law and their families, Melvin and Dorothy Daniels of Livonia and Ron and Christina Daniels of Brimley, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Perron was preceded in death by a brother, John "Jack" Perron, brothers-in-law Melvin Cryderman and Claude Daniels, and his parents.

Visitation and services were held Friday, August 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's ProCathedral Church, with memorial services by the American Legion, Elks Lodge, and VFW.
