April Gouza
April Lee Gouza, 21, of Naubinway died unexpectedly Thursday, August 24, 2006, at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 31, 1984, in Newberry to Terry L. and A. Phyllis (nee Dzuiba) Gouza. She attended Grand Blanc Schools.
Miss Gouza had been employed by several area businesses since high school. Family members said she was most excited about her upcoming appointment as a park ranger with the State of Michigan. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting and had a concern for stray animals, bringing home and caring for as many as she could. Miss Gouza was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Naubinway.
Survivors include her daughter, Kylee Baker, at home in Naubinway, her parents, Terry and Phyllis Gouza of Naubinway, four brothers and their families,
Kevin and Conni Gouza of Newberry, Brian Gouza and Corrina Storzuk of Pickford, Brent and Shelby Gouza of Freehold, New York, and Chad and Melissa Gouza of Gaylord, as well as several nieces and nephews, her maternal grandparents, Felix and Annabelle Dzuiba of Davisburg, and paternal grandfather, William Conway of Silverbay, Minnesota.
Miss Gouza was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mildred Calgaro.
Friends called at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Naubinway Sunday, August 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, August 28, at 11 a.m. with Father Timothy Hruska officiating. A Rite of Committal was held at Maplewood Cemetery in Rexton following the Mass.
Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry assisted the family.
