Mapes Leads Way as Saints Linksters Compete in Invitationals

The St. Ignace golf team competed in invitationals at Sault Ste. Marie, Rudyard, and Cheboygan August 21, 22, and 23.

Tyler Mapes tied for third overall at Sault Ste. Marie with an 18

hole score of 80, while Jeffrey Gamble notched 98, Justen Frazier chipped in 111, and Dane Christiansen recorded 119. The Saints team tallied 331.

The Bulldogs hosted the meet at The Oaks in Kincheloe with Mapes firing a 75, Gamble charting 91, and Frazier and Christiansen registering 113 as the Saints totaled 331.

At Cheboygan Mapes placed third overall after carding a 76, Gamble charted 84, Frazier marked 116, and Lewie Mullins chipped in 121.

The Saints will compete at the Inland Lakes Invitational Wednesday, August 30.

Three meets have been changed from the initial 2006 golf schedule as the September 11 meet is at Newberry, the September 26 match is at Rogers City, and the October 2 meet is at Hidden River.
