Rader's 295 Yards Lead Panthers, 42-20

Caleb Rader Pickford Caleb Rader Pickford Senior Caleb Rader rushed for 295 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead Pickford to a 42-20 non-conference win over White Pine of Ontario Friday, September 15.

Rader carried the ball 22 times and scored two 80-yard touchdown runs, one from 29 yards, one from four, and one from three yards out to lift the Panthers offense.

Alan Orr chipped in 74 yards on 12 carries, scored one touchdown, and two conversion runs. Kyle Barry notched 51 yards and three two-point conversions, Clayton Peffers tallied 14, and Paul Walsh charted 13.

McKinley Portice completed two of six passes for 31 yards, Tony Sherman caught one pass for 18 yards, and Orr one reception for 13 yards.

Walsh led the Panthers defense with 10 tackles, Rader chipped in seven stops and one pass interception, Jason King and Scott Coullard added six, Barry tallied five, Joe Jenkins charted four with one fumble recovery, Matt Rose and Orr marked three, Caleb Knepper counted two, and Jordan Potter, Victor Merchand, and Sherman registered one.

On the first play from scrimmage, Rader dashed 80 yards at 11:46 and Barry added the twopoint conversion for an 8-0 lead. With 7:33 left in the first quarter, Rader answered from three yards out and Barry chipped in the extrapoint conversion to increase the margin to 18-0.

Alan Orr Pickford Alan Orr Pickford White Pines scored to cut the lead to 18-6 before Rader scored his second 80-yard touchdown at 1:33 of the first period. Orr notched the extra point conversion and Rader closed out the first-half scoring with a four-yard TD run at 6:41, followed by a Barry conversion run for the Panthers' 30th point of the first half.

White Pine scored late in the second quarter and tallied its final touchdown in the fourth period, while the Panthers scored two third-quarter touchdowns as Orr answered on a one-yard plunge and Rader rambled in from 29 yards out for the Pickford final score.

Pickford will host Bark River- Harris Friday, September 22, during an MEFC contest.
