With all of the dinners offered around the area this week, we won't have to cook for awhile, or at least until our husbands get tired of "going out." The meals are always so good that they're hard to resist, and the money goes to good causes.

There will be a spaghetti dinner Saturday, November 18, to benefit the Eva Burrell Animal Shelter. This event is being hosted by the Manistique Moose Lodge. Cost is $6 per person. Everyone is invited to join them to help the animal shelter.

A "High Tea" is being held Thursday, November 16, at the Comfort Inn in Manistique from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale at the Manistique Big Boy restaurant. The tea is sponsored by

the Comfort Inn and the Big Boy restaurant, and all proceeds go to the GFWC Manistique Women's Club for scholarships.

The Engadine Church will be serving its monthly free meal Wednesday, November 29, not Wednesday, November 22, as stated in my column in the November 9 issue of The St. Ignace News. The meal will consist of roast pork with potatoes, vegetables, and desserts. This meal is free to everyone in the community who would like to join them. Dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church on Park Avenue in Engadine. A Christmas movie will also be shown.

Don't forget the Christmas Parade Friday, November 24, in downtown

Manistique. This event will be the kick-off for the holiday season. To enter, or be part of this holiday event, call the Chamber of Commerce office at (906) 341-5010.

The Tribe Elders, 60 years and older, will have Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, November 16, starting at 6 p.m. at the Manistique Tribal Center. Participants are asked to call the Tribal Center to sign up as soon as possible.

The VFW Auxiliary 8372 of Engadine is holding a Hunters Dinner Wednesday, November 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Engadine VFW Hall. Cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12, and free for children younger than 5. A reminder that the Methodist

Church in Engadine is holding a Hunters Dinner Thursday, November 16, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Garfield Township Hall in Engadine. Cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children age 5 to 12, and free for children younger than 5.

A Christmas Bazaar will be held Saturday, November 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the township hall in Curtis. Kids can have their picture taken with Santa.

All of this should keep us busy for a few weeks. Good luck to all the hunters out there; please be extra careful in the woods.

A special happy birthday to Andrea Keller, November 20. Have a great day.

Stay safe and stay well. See you next week.
