In an article entitled "Senior Apartments Are Part of Economic Restructuring at Mackinaw City" published in The St. Ignace News Thursday, October 26, the target group for Mackinaw City's Cedarbrook Village was incorrectly identified as people 50 years old who have incomes of at least $50,000. The complex is geared for older residents, but "there is no minimum income requirement to move into Cedarbrook," said Craig Bonter, owner and operator of the facility. "The apartment complex caters to people in the mid-scale price range," he added.
Mr. Bonter is a member of the Mackinaw Area Tourism Bureau, which is working to draw more people around 50 years of age with incomes of $50,000 to Mackinaw City to help sustain community development. The Tourism Bureau's plans and the Cedarbrook facility were discussed in conjunction with each other at a village council meeting Thursday, July 17.
