Anderson 'Jumbo'Woodruff

Anderson 'Jumbo'Woodruff Anderson 'Jumbo'Woodruff Anderson James "Jumbo" Woodruff of Brevort Township was a retired truck driver who was building a log cabin on East Lake. Mr. Woodruff died suddenly November 26, 2006.

He was born in Detroit December 7, 1945, to James and Hilda (nee Armstrong) Woodruff. He attended Holy Redeemer High School and Eastern Michigan University.

Mr. Woodruff married Mary Rodriguez August 13, 1966, and they raised their five children in Monroe.

Mr. Woodruff retired from Alvan Motor Freight Company as a truck driver in 2003. He and his wife moved to Brevort Township and had spent the last two years building a log cabin on East Lake, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He is survived by his wife; three sons and their families, James and Carol Woodruff, Thomas Woodruff, and Glenn Woodruff; two daughters and their families, Debra and Francis Gregory, and Kathleen and Ryan Beekman; a brother and his family, Benjamin and Anita Woodruff; five grandchildren, Hannah Woodruff, Paul, Thomas and Maria Gregory, and Zoe Beekman; two sisters-in-law and their families, Margaret Rodriguez, and Giselle and Andrew Hertler; and nieces and nephews Benjamin Vasquez, Russell and Penny Woodruff, Evy, Matthew, and Mary Rodriguez, and Chris, Megan, and Nicholas Hertler.

Visitation was held at the Cole Funeral Home in Chelsea Wednesday, November 29, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea Thursday, November 30, at 11 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
