A former owner of the Trout Lake resort known as Birch Lodge, Anna Badgley, 91, of Trout Lake died Thursday, December 7, 2006.
She was born in AuGres on September 29, 1915, to Harry and Ruth Frank.
Mrs. Badgley will be remembered by those who frequented Birch Lodge, which she and her husband, Cliff Badgley, owned. She remained involved in the business until early in 2006, when she broke her hip in a fall.
Family and friends say she had a fun-loving spirit and she will be remembered for giving to others and for treating everyone with fairness and respect.
Mrs. Badgley was preceded in death by her husband in 1951, her parents, brothers Buster and Leonard, and sister Dorothy Shupe.
She is survived by a sister and her family, Eleanor and Harold Duberville of AuGres, five nephews and their families, Dan Duberville, Randy and Elaine Duberville, Rick and Lynn Duberville, David and Veronica Badgley, and Jim and Sharon Frank, and two nieces and their families, Sherill Frank and Bonnie Hodge, and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry Friday, December 15, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Arthur Bode officiating. Interment will take place at Linwood Cemetery in AuGres.
