New Sign System To Aid Snowmobile Trail Rescues
      Emergency responders in Mackinac and Chippewa counties are asking snowmobile trail users to look for new trail locator signs, which have been installed to make it easier to rescue injured riders. As of Monday, December 11, more than 90 percent of the 322 trail markers were up in Mackinac County, and the rest will be in place by the end of the year, said Sheriff Scott Strait.

      With Christmas just around the corner, Santa Claus and his tiny helpers have been very busy, but he is taking time to write a note to children in St. Ignace who have written letters to him and posted them in the special mailbox at City Hall. City employees have been helping, and each child will have received a reply.

Party To Help Meal Program Set for Thurs.
      A community Christmas party is planned to benefit the Meals on Wheels senior citizen nutrition program Thursday, December 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community Action Agency Fenlon Center at 368 Reagon Street in St. Ignace. Everyone is invited to participate in the party, which will feature a dinner and musical entertainment.
