Reports from the St. Ignace Police Department, November 27 to December 11.

A St. Ignace man and Mackinac County’s animal control officer have filed a harassment complaint with the Mackinac County prosecuting attorney against the man’s neighbor for what he charges are excessive and unwarranted complaints about his dogs. The man spoke with police Monday, November 27, claiming that a complaint by his neighbor about the excessive barking of his outdoor dogs was stopped, but the neighbor continues to complain. The animal control officer told police there have been no other violations. Police were not able to talk with the complainant.

A 14-year-old St. Ignace male was detained by store employees November 30 after they said they witnessed the boy stealing. He was turned over to his father’s custody. The case will be processed through the juvenile division of probate court.

A 57-year-old St. Ignace woman was cited for retail fraud after store employees said they witnessed her stealing Friday, December 1. She was detained by store employees until police arrived, then admitted to the theft.

A 24-year-old St. Ignace woman was arrested for aggravated assault for allegedly cutting a man on the nose and lip with an unknown

object early Sunday, December 3. The incident happened after an argument. Both were under the influence of alcohol. The man told police he went to sleep after the argument and then woke up and noticed that he was bleeding.

ASt. Ignace woman filed a complaint with police Monday, December 4, stating that she has been harassed by her ex-husband, who has a court order to keep away from her and her boyfriend. The case remains open.

A 56-year-old Iron Mountain woman was ordered by police to send a money order for $61.20 to a local gas station after the business submitted a non-sufficient check of $41.20 to police Wednesday, December 6. The business charged an extra $20 for the collection. She has 10 days to comply.

A 25-year-old Sault Ste. Marie woman was arrested for allegedly stealing $101 from the money box at the bus stop in St. Ignace Thursday, December 7. The attendant said after he returned from picking someone up at the casino, he noticed the money box had been pried open. He said the woman, who was one of seven passengers, and witnesses said they saw her making phone calls and going through the desk after the attendant left. The bus, en route to Mackinaw City, was stopped by Mackinaw City police, where she was arrested. She was lodged in Mackinac County Jail without incident.

A 21-year-old St. Ignace woman was ordered by police to go to the hospital for possible overdose of prescription drugs, which she allegedly mixed with alcohol. Police received the complaint Saturday, December 9, from her friend, who was with her when police arrived.

Police assisted other emergency response agencies on 10 occasions from November 27 to December 11. Five false alarms were reported during that period.

Reports from the St. Ignace Police Department from December 12 to December 18:

A St. Ignace woman was given a civil infraction for failing to stop for a school bus Wednesday, December 13. The woman was ordered to appear before the 92nd District Court within 10 days of the incident to pay the $170 fine.

A St. Ignace woman reported that her car was scratched by an unknown suspect on Joseph Street between Thursday, December 14, and Friday, December 15.

A St. Ignace woman was ordered to repay a bill of $59.35 to a local business after her personal check did not clear November 16. The complaint was filed by the business December 14.

A St. Ignace man was told by police to turn his loud music down Saturday, December 16. An anonymous person called police and complained about the loud music. No citation was issued.
