Students Seek Funding for Flagpole
Students in the National Honor Society at LaSalle High School are appealing to community service organizations, businesses, and residents to support their project of replacing the school’s flagpole and installing a landscaped garden. The students are trying to raise between $6,000 and $8,000 to install three new flagpoles to replace the single flagpole at the school.
The fundraising project began with the students selling beads at the school, and fundraising efforts will continue through the year, said honor society advisor Connie Olsen. The group is sending letters to local businesses and individuals to inform them of the project.
National Honor Society students participating in the effort are Erica Ahlich, Allison Brown, Kelsey Cryderman, Jack Goudreau, Cally Klimczak, Lewie Mullins, Dan Olsen, Jonathan Ruegg, and Jake Weiss. They undertook the project because they believe it fulfills the pledge they took to become National Honor Society members, to give back through community service.
