Les Cheneaux area residents are encouraged to save their Christmas lights for the second annual Venetian Boat Parade and boat decorating contest Saturday, July 7.

The parade will start in Cedarville Bay at 9 p.m. and travel to Hessel public marina. In addition to the lighted boats, there are awards for parade participants costumes, lighted boat house, and lighted boat dock. Organizers Joe Eger and Al Hansen recommended people keep this activity in mind when purchasing holiday lights or lights on sale after Christmas.
