Pickford To Host Old-Fashioned Christmas Friday
Pickford will host an Old Fashioned Christmas Friday, December 22, with extended shopping hours, caroling, a musical program, and horse-drawn hay rides.
Caroling and a short musical program led by opera singer Karen Hughes of Pickford will begin at 6 p.m. at Mama Maloza’s coffee shop on Main Street. Those who want to participate in the caroling that night can continue on to other places on the street.
Hay rides will be offered by sleigh or wagon. The ride can be caught at various locations along Main Street, as the driver will transport shoppers between businesses, and take passengers up and down the street.
Participating businesses will remain open that evening until 8
p.m. for last-minute shopping before the stores close for Christmas. Pickford businesses open late include American Amish Heirlooms, Mama Maloza’s, Nyberg Consignment Shop, Taylor True Value, Watson’s Shoe Store, and Wilderness Treasures. Some of the businesses will offer refreshments and an open house atmosphere.
