Fifth Annual Slammin' Salmon Derby Is Aug. 19

The Fifth Annual Slammin' Salmon Derby, based in Hessel and hosted by the Islander Bar, will be held Saturday, August 19. The event will start at 6:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

The tournament will award $1,000 for the largest salmon caught, and will pay down to seven places in the largest salmon category. A prize will also be awarded for the heaviest total weight caught by one boat.
