The Les Cheneaux Islands Association will hold its annual meeting and dinner Thursday, August 10, and will include its annual report, election of officers, and a presentation by featured guest speaker David Lesh of the Great Lakes School of Wooden Boat Building.

The annual meeting starts at 4 p.m. at Les Cheneaux Community Schools' cafeteria in Cedarville, and includes committee and other Association reports, community updates, and election of officers. Islands Association President Trip Abnee will lead the meeting.

The group will move over to the Community Center in Cedarville for a social hour at 5:30 p.m. A traditional turkey dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

The featured speaker at dinner will be Mr. Lesh, executive director of the Great Lakes School of Wooden Boat Building, which will be built in Cedarville. Construction is expected to start this fall, and the school plans to offer classes as early as next summer. Anyone who wants to attend the meeting can do so free of charge. Dinner is $18, and participants must make reservations by mailing payment this week to Les Cheneaux Islands Association, 1158 South Park Avenue, Cedarville Michigan 49719.
