Hiawatha's Family Walking Event To Celebrate Trails Day August 12

Hikers, campers, families, and outdoors enthusiasts of all ages will converge at the St. Ignace Welcome Center and receive updated information regarding the North Country National Scenic Trail Saturday, August 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore chapter of the North Country Trail Association will host the outing, which celebrates Trails Day. The event will include refreshments, giveaways, and children's activities.

The Chapter will lead interpretive hikes and scavenger hunts through Straits State Park, which offers views of the Mackinac Bridge. Participants will have the option of taking shuttles to the downtown area and hiking back to the Welcome Center.
