David Douglas Moles, 63, was a resident of DeTour for the past five years. He died Friday, July 28, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Moles was born July 9, 1943 in Lansing to Clifford L. and Agatha May (nee Penner) Moles. He grew up in Lansing and spent time working on his grandparent's farm. After school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1960 to 1963, then worked as a truck driver, a construction worker, and a manager of an apartment complex, and he managed a bar and bowling alley in Lansing for many years.
Later, he moved to Sault Ste. Marie, and for the past five years has been a resident of DeTour.
He was a member of the American Legion post in Sault Ste. Marie.
His family described him as a man with a great sense of humor who enjoyed discussing politics, reading, hunting, fishing, and his granddaughter, Riley Ann Rolison.
Mr. Mole is survived by one son and his family, Lance and Jessie Rolison and their daughter, Riley Ann, of Sault Ste. Marie, and two sisters, Saundra McNamara of New Britain, Connecticut, and Beverly Ludwick of Ionia.
A memorial gathering will be held Monday, August 7, at 10 a.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford.
