All Officers Re-elected on Les Cheneaux School Board

All officers on the Les Cheneaux Community Schools Board of Education were reelected at the board's organization meeting Tuesday, July 11, including Dan Burrows as president, Dave Murray as vice president, Dave Sudol as secretary, and Marianne Coyne as treasurer. John Causley, Tony Hakola, and Carl McIntire are the other trustees.

The board will meet the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. and trustees will be paid $25 a meeting. The secretary will receive $30 a meeting.

First National Bank of St. Ignace and Michigan Liquid Assets Fund are primary depositories.

The board's building and site committee and finance committee will comprise the entire board.

Dave Murray, Dave Sudol, and Dan Burrows are on the negotiations committee, and Carl McIntire, John Causley, and Mr. Murray will serve on the policy committee. Mr. Murray will chair both committees.

Marianne Coyne, John Causley, and Tony Hakola will be on the superintendent evaluation committee, chaired by Mrs. Coyne.

The dual superintendent council, a new committee, will include Dan Burrows and Dave Sudol. The committee was established to address the new situation created by Les Cheneaux Superintendent Rod Goehmann's acceptance of the dual superintendency of the Les Cheneaux and DeTour Area Schools districts. DeTour also has a two-person council and both will address any concerns that arise and keep an eye on how the arrangement is working.

Mrs. Coyne will be the board's representative on the Consolidated Community Schools Services board, replacing Dave Sudol.
