Trap Nets Tampered With at Cedarville

The Bay Mills Conservation Law Enforcement Department is investigating three incidents of fishing net tampering in McKay Bay on Lake Huron near Cedarville. Three times during July someone has moved anchors holding trap nets in place. Moving these nets could cause serious injury or death to boaters, officers report.

Those who may have information about the net tampering are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 465-7867. Callers may remain anonymous and tips leading to arrest may earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.
