Engagement Amy Polk and Richard Bruning, both of Cedarville, are engaged to be married. The prospective bride is a 1991 graduate of Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield Hills, and earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in Marquette. She has worked for The St. Ignace News and Les Cheneaux Islands Weekly Wave newspaper since May 1997. Her parents are Connie Polk and Dennis Polk, both of Cedarville, and formerly of Dearborn. Mr. Bruning is a 1988 graduate of Cedarville High School in Cedarville, and has worked for Oglebay Norton Marine Services, based in Cleveland, Ohio since 1994. His parents are the late Rita Bruning of Cedarville, and Ron Bruning, formerly of Cedarville and now living in Rogers City. He is the grandson of Richard "Dick" and the late Ellen Smith of Cedarville. The couple is planning an October 14 wedding service and reception at the Les Cheneaux Club, on Marquette Island in Cedarville. |
