Rexton-Garnet
By Linda Livermore 595-7283

Don't you just appreciate where you live? I feel blessed to call the Upper Peninsula home, especially this time of year. The fantastic colors of the trees, the bright blue skies and on some days, even sunshine, the football games on Friday nights, and the crunch of the freshly picked apple when you bite into it. Some days just don't get any better than this.

The snowbirds, as they're affectionately called, will soon be headed to warmer climates. I can't blame them. I'm not a winter fan either, but you can't have everything.

Nice to see Vi and Darrel Albrecht, who were visiting their son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters, Dave, Robyn, Brenda, and Abby. The Albrechts are from Iowa.

John and Louella Snow enjoyed the weekend at home from their weekly residence at St. Vincent

hospital annex in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where John continues to receive medical treatment.

The bear hunters can be seen along most of the back roads as they await the trophy they hope will come lumbering in their direction.

Wishing a very happy birthday to a fine gentleman down Epoufette way, Clarence Bumpus, who is 95 years young September 25. Birthday wishes as well to Mindy Franklin, Alex Prater, and a mover and shaker and great pasty maker, Mary Formolo, all celebrating their birthdays September 26, Riley Formolo September 27, and Dave Hanson September 29.

Continued get well wishes to Shine and Connie Paquin, Ray Derusha, Shirley Rooney, Esther Bigelow, Shelly Bigelow, my husband, Dave Livermore, and all of the other folks who are dealing with illness.
