The Engadine United Methodist Church will serve a free community meal Wednesday, September 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church on Park Avenue in Engadine. A hayride will leave the church at 5:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The West-Mackinac Garden Club will meet Thursday, September 28, at Dale Moore's home at N7201 Krause Road in Engadine. The Moores will lead a tour of their greenhouse operation starting at 6 p.m. Anyone interested in gardening is invited to attend.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Garden will host its annual Harvest Dinner, Sunday, October 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Garden Community Building. Ham and turkey dinners, plus homemade pies will be served. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children younger than 5.

There will be a "Firemen's Fundraiser" night at the Manistique Pizza Hut Monday, October 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. See the brand new fire truck and meet your local firefighters. Pictures will be taken with Sparky the dog. Children can enter the coloring contest, and the first 50 kids will get a fireman's hat. Aportion of the day's proceeds will be donated to the Manistique Volunteer Fire Department. For more information, contact the Manistique Pizza Hut at (906) 341- 6977.

The Engadine Friends of the Library have returned to hosting meetings at the library, located at the Engadine school, every third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
