Farero To Run as Write-in Candidate

Mackinac County Commissioner Jim Farero of Cedarville filed Tuesday, September 19, to run as a write-in candidate for his County Commission seat in the November general election. As a write-in candidate, Mr. Farero's name will not appear on the ballot.

Mr. Farero, a Republican, lost his bid for the seat by 73 votes in the August primary to Mike Patrick, also a Republican from Cedarville. Mr. Farero told The St. Ignace

News, "I would like to continue serving on the commission by assisting and promoting business development, promote and support senior programs, encourage the construction of a bike trail from DeTour to St. Ignace and beyond, and follow through with the writing of the master plan."

The two men will face off again Tuesday, November 7.

The deadline to file as a writein candidate for the General Election is Friday, November 3, at 4 p.m.
