John McHale John Joseph McHale, 92, of Jones, was a World War II veteran who later enjoyed a 24-year career as a milk delivery man in Chicago. Mr. McHale died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. He was born September 15, 1914, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward and Mary (nee Carey) McHale. He attended DePaul High School in Chicago and served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. McHale married Rosalie Leahy June 4, 1943, in Chicago. He delivered milk for Wanzers Bordens Company in Chicago from 1952 to 1976. Mr. McHale later worked for the Pinkerton Security Company. He was a member of the Chicago Milk Drivers Union, and he enjoyed reading and sports. He is survived by his daughters and their families, Estelle and Terry Bowlby of Jones, Rosalie and James Gross of Bristol, Indiana, and Joan Anne O'Hara of Wilmington, Illinois; grandchildren and their families, James and Linda Gross of Nottawa, Jennifer Gross of Bristol, Joseph Gross of Bristol, Matthew and Lori Bowlby of St. Ignace, Jeannette and Travis Wilson of Three Rivers, and Christopher O'Hara and Kathleen and Nick Rader, all of Wilmington; and great-grandchildren Ryan and Eric Gross, Jeanette Cokinos, and Jacob, Ashlee, and Austin Rader. Mr. McHale was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1974, his parents, a daughter, Ellen McHale, and his brother, Richard McHale. The family received callers at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine Friday, November 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mass was held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers Saturday, November 11, at 11 a.m., with Father Mark Vyverman officiating. Burial was at the Constantine Cemetery. |
