Trio Leads Comets to 48-44 Victory Over Atlanta Huskies

The trio of Cheyenne Withey, Katie Smydra, and Mollie Frye combined for 42 points to lead Mackinaw City to a 48-44 non-conference win over Atlanta Tuesday, November 7.

The Comets led 13-4 after the first eight minutes and outscored the Huskies 16-9 in the second quarter for a 29-13 halftime lead.

A t l a n t a stormed back with a 21-11 margin in the third quarter to cut the Comets lead to 40-34. The host Huskies closed out the game with a 10-8 scoring edge in the final period.

Comets Fall to Hornets

Mackinaw City fell to Pellston 60-33 as Katie Smydra scored 24 points with eight rebounds, Bethany Campbell added five points, and Jessica Sefton and Cheyenne Withey chipped in two points each.
