U.P. Pond Hockey Championship To Be Held in St. Ignace February 24

Hockey players and fans of all ages are invited to St. Ignace February 24 and February 25 for the Upper Peninsula Pond Hockey Championship.

This new event will feature tournaments on the ice of Moran Bay near downtown St. Ignace. Festivities will include a heated beer tent on the ice, and live entertainment all weekend.

Tournaments will be split by age into four divisions, including 21 and older, 30 and older, 40 and older, and women of all ages. Entry fees are $350 for each sixperson team. The entry fee includes at least three games, beer tent tickets, casino packages, and Labatt Blue sportswear. Division winners will receive Labatt Blue jerseys and award cups.

Players must be 21 years and older and USA Hockey registered.

The tournament will be sponsored by Labatt Blue Light, St. Ignace Hockey Association, and other area businesses.
