Claudia Hurban

Claudia Hurban Claudia Hurban Claudia Kay Hurban, 55, of Pickford, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

She was born December 15, 1951, in Flint, to Rosewell Franklin and Marquerite Beatrice (nee Mills) Heme.

When she was a teenager, she moved with her family from Flint to West Branch. She was graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School and then earned an associate's degree from Kirtland Community College. She worked as an office administrator for Taylor Door in West Branch for 12 years.

She married Dennis Emil Hurban October 5, 1985, at St. Joseph's Church in West Branch, and they have made their home in Pickford since then. Mrs. Hurban was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel. She was a devoted mother and an avid reader.

Mrs. Hurban is survived by her husband, Dennis, one son, David Emil Hurban of Pickford, one sister and her husband, Sandra and Matt Pius of Roseville, one brother, Perry Heme of Sunnyvale, California, her mother-in-law, Leona Hurban of Cedarville, sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet Heme of Mays Landing, New Jersey, Bob Hurban of DeTour, Jim and Linda Hurban of Cedarville, Fred and JoAnn Hurban of Pickford, and Don Hurban of Wayland, nieces and nephews and their families, Scott Heme, Shelley Heme, Brandy Heme, Rodney Pius, Rebecca Pius, Kim and Jason Wilderspin, Katie Hurban, Jamie Hurban, Julie and Kyle Rairigh, Kara Hurban, Chris Hurban, Scott Hurban, and Emily Hurban.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Franklin Heme and Rodney Heme.

Visitation was held Friday, January 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, January 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel with Father Sebastian Chacko as celebrant.
