A snowmobile operator died in an accident Saturday, February 3, on Trail 47, approximately one mile west of Strongs Road in Chippewa Township.

Evidence at the scene suggests the snowmobile operator was traveling westbound and left the trail and was thrown from the sled into a tree.

The identity of the operator has been withheld until the family has been notified. Investigators have not determined whether alcohol consumption played a role in the accident.
