Panthers Offense Explodes

The Pickford offense exploded with four players in double figures during the non-league win over the Black Bears of Big Bay de Noc.

The Panthers, 2-9 overall on the season, led 20-16 after the first eight minutes before the Black Bears held an 18-16 scoring edge in the second quarter to cut the Pickford lead to 36-34 at halftime as McKinley Portice scored 11 and Paul Walsh chipped in seven for Coach Vance Barber in the first half.

Jamie Nettleton scored 16 points, Kyle Barry added 12 in the second half. Pickford's offense increased its lead over Big Bay de Noc after outscoring the Black Bears 20- 13 in the third quarter for a 56-47 lead, and closing out the contest with a 22-20 advantage in the final period.

Pickford scored 23 field goals, seven treys, and made 23 of 30 free throws. Big Bay de Noc made 22 field goals, one trey, and shot 22 of 41 from the free throw line.

Panthers Fall to Blue Devils

The Blue Devils led 36-20 at halftime and outscored the Panthers 31-14 in the second half to post the win.
