Mackinac Island City Workers To Get 3.23 Percent Raise
A 3.23 percent raise for Mackinac Island city workers went into effect April 1. The salary changes were adopted by the city council at its Wednesday, April 11 meeting.
The following is a list of salaries and wages for city employees for the 2007-08 fiscal year.
Legislative and Executive
Mayor (no change) $250 per month; $35 per meeting per day for each official meeting of the city council attended; $40 per day of attendance at Board of Review session; health insurance.
Alderperson (no change) $35 per meeting per day for each official meeting of the city council attended.
General Government
Mayor's Assistant from $26,000 a year to $26,839.60, health insurance.
City Clerk from $422.88 to $436.54 a week; $60 per meeting per day for official city council meeting attended and $50 each election registration day attended if outside normally established business days and hours; $75 each election day; health insurance; $1,000 annual employer contribution for retirement.
Deputy City Clerk (vacant position) from $8.55 to $8.83 per hour, no more than 40 hours per work week; $36.00 per meeting per day for official meeting of the city council attended when conducted outside of normally established business days and hours.
City Treasurer from $412 to $425.31 a week, health insurance.
Deputy City Treasurer (vacant position) from $8.31 to $8.58 per hour, no more than 40 hours per work week.
Board of Review Member (unchanged) $40 per meeting per day of official Board of Review meeting attended; payment of reasonable expenses incurred.
Election Board Chair from $9.58 to $9.89 per hour for first eight hours. $14.83 per hour for each additional hour.
Election Board Member from $8.55 to $8.83 per hour for first eight hours. $13.23 per hour for each additional hour.
Public Safety
Chief of Police, from $56,230 to $60,500 per year, vacation, sick, and personal leave days, health insurance, life insurance, annual employer contribution of $4,000 for retirement account.
Police Lieutenant, from $44,560 per year to $884.61 per week, paid sick and personal leave days, life insurance, annual employer contribution of $3,000. The position is scheduled to be eliminated August 1.
Police Officer, entry rate of $12.23 per hour; after 12 months, $13.80 per hour; after 24 months, $15.35 per hour; after 36 months, $16.62 per hour; after 48 months, $17.60 per hour; after 60 months, $19.23 per hour.
Clerk/ Dispatcher range of $9.62 to $10.83 per hour.
Seasonal Dispatcher range of $9.25 to $10.58 per hour.
Traffic Officer range of $9.85 to $10.14 per hour.
Fire Chief $1,200 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Assistant Fire Chief $850 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Fire Captain $750 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Fire Lieutenant $700 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Fire Engineer $300 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Fire Sergeant $250 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Fire Corporal $150 per year; $18.53 per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour; $18.53 for each drill attended.
Firefighter entry rate, $12.39 per hour; after 5 years, $14.45 per hour; after 10 years, $16.52 per hour; and after 15 years, $18.58 per hour. Per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour and for each drill attended.
Auxiliary Firefighter entry rate, $8.26 per hour; after 1 year, $10.32 per hour; after 5 years, $12.39 per hour; and after 10 years, $14.45 per hour. Per run responded to and for each additional hour after the first hour and for each drill attended.
Building Official/ City Engineer/ Zoning Administrator, from $39.36 per hour to $40.35 per hour, 80 hours paid annual leave, $100 per pay period deferred compensation contribution.
Planning Commission/ Recording Secretary $58.27 to $60.15 per meeting per day (no less than one meeting paid per month); $98.40 to $101.58 per month (preparation time compensation).
Fly Control Officer $9.53 to $9.84 per hour.
Humane Officer (vacant) from $4,180.27 to $4,315.29 per year.
