Bonnie Hughes, the organizer for the event this year, presented a check to David Miller, the school's athletic director, and Teryn Miller, an all-state cross country runner. She placed ninth overall in Division 3 during the Upper Peninsula State Finals in Houghton during the fall 2006.
The 2007 cross country team earned more than $800 from sponsorships during the race. The school staff looks forward to this year's cross country season, as it will be the first time DeTour will field a team in more than 25 years.
Craig and Traci Miller will be the race directors next year.
