The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Youth Powwow last Saturday at the Hudson Township Recreation Park was very well attended. It was a pleasure to watch the youngsters and older participants as well as the respectfulness with which they treated all of those in attendance, as well as their surroundings.

Having just concluded a wedding and reception for their daughter, April, and her new husband, Kris, the previous weekend, Mike and Sally Houghton and their youngest son, Andrew, enjoyed a great weekend camping at Garnet Lake. The lake was calm, the sky bright and sunny, and they knew most of the folks driving by, who either waved or stopped by for a brief visit. The comment was heard about what a great weekend it was, and how quickly the summer has passed.

Fitting in a class reunion, birthday celebration, and entertaining out of town guests were Dale and Evelyn Burgess, who managed all of those things last week and enjoyed dinner with Florida and Grand Rapids friends, Ron and Sherry, and Julie and Mike Noteboom and their two children from Plainwell.

So nice to see Gwen and Bill Black in church Sunday. Mrs. Black's folks are Truman and Dorothy Miller, a former pastor and his wife at the Rexton Mennonite Church. The Millers are traveling from their home in Arizona to Indiana for a family reunion next week.

Continued get well wishes to Connie Paquin and her mother, Shine, as they continue to deal with health issues.
