Donald "Keith" Meceachern of Lansing was a former resident of St. Ignace and a World War II veteran. He passed away at age 88 Monday, August 13, 2007.

He and his wife, Mary Katherine (nee Terry) were high school sweethearts and were graduated from LaSalle High School 70 years ago. Following war, other marriages, and rearing their families, the two were reunited 50 years after high school, and were married 14 years ago.

The couple spent summers in Evergreen Shores in St. Ignace and winters in Sarasota, Florida.

Mr. Meceachern is survived by a daughter, Susan Meceachern of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two stepsons, Dean A. Tarry and Tim E. Tarry of Grand Ledge; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Private family services will take place this fall in Lansing.
