Saints Boys Place 2nd at T.C. Invite

Chris Binger Chris Binger The St. Ignace Saints bowling team finished second, behind Rogers City, at the Traverse City Invitational that included 13 boys teams and 11 girls teams Saturday, December 8.

Chris Binger bowled a threegame series of 572 for the Saints, with high game of 222; Jeffrey Gamble, 571 and 212 game; Andy Mullins, 571 and 193; Jamin Corwin, 509 and 182, and Josh Feldman, 427 and 158.

The Saints defeated Hartland in the two baker games, split with Traverse City Central before winning on total pins, and dropped the two baker games to Rogers City.

Brooke Allan led the St. Ignace girls with a 437 series and high game of 148. Melissa Brown had 389 and 156, Jaimee Bloxsom 375 and 142, Sara Tafelski 375 and 142, and Amanda Coveyou 319 and 131.

"This tournament had very strong competition," said Saints Coach Terri Allan. "In the boys division, there was a three-game 700 series bowled, along with a 668 and a 662. I was pleased with the effort of the St. Ignace boys and girls."

St. Ignace bowlers have some time off until a Saturday, January 5, match-up at Alpena.
