Edna St. Louis
Edna R. St. Louis of St. Ignace previously worked for the businesses of Winkleman's, Indian Village, Phillips Jewelry, and for the Eby family at Castle Rock for many years.
Mrs. St. Louis was 81 when she died early Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care Facility in St. Ignace, where she had been a patient for nearly five years.
She was born February 9, 1926, in Moran, to August and Rose (nee Beauregard) Marshall, one of 12 children born to the couple.
She married Leonard "Baldy" St. Louis October 5, 1946. Mr. St. Louis preceded her in death August 31, 2002.
Mrs. St. Louis was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society.
She is survived by five children and their families, Bruce and Cheryl St. Louis, Robert St. Louis and Nina McDonald, Brenda and Bob Blair, and Karen and David Giacherio, all of St. Ignace, and Roger St. Louis of Muskegon; three sisters and their families, Bernice and Stanley Bickham of St. Ignace, Marie and Jack Baker of Saginaw, and Gloria Marshall of St. Ignace; five brothers and their families, Cliff and Delores Marshall, Bob and Crystal Marshall, Ray Marshall, Dick and Linda Marshall, and Jim and Charlotte Marshall, all of St. Ignace; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle, in 1967, her brother, Louis Marshall, and two infant siblings.
Visitation will be at Dodson Funeral Home Thursday, December 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 21, at 10 a.m., with the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church congregation meeting at the United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Gros Cap Cemetery.
