A lack of snow did not deter Mackinac Island visitors Mike and Luann Burlingame, who stepped off the boat with their cross-county skis and quickly set them aside to explore the Island on bikes Friday, December 29. “We thought it would be fun to be up here without the crowds,” said Mr. Burlingame. Celebrating their five-year wedding anniversary, the Southbend, Indiana, pair spent three days on the Island and say they’ll be back again in the fall.
