Curt 'Casey' Coffey

Curt "Casey" Coffey, 18, of the Owosso/Morrice area, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007.

He was born March 26, 1988, in Ann Arbor to Shannon Coffey and Keith Carpenter.

Mr. Coffey was a graduate of Morrice High School with the Class of 2006. In school he enjoyed running track, cross country, and won second place in the Eastern U.P. Championship in swimming. He worked for Wild's Furniture Store in Laingsburg, delivering furniture.

Family members say he was a kind, gentle soul who had countless friends and loved outdoor activities, including kayaking and hunting.

Mr. Coffey is survived by his mother, Shannon Coffey, his father, Keith Carpenter, a sister, Teresa Carpenter, grandparents Tom and Taffy Coffey, two aunts and their families, Ellen Coffey, and Molly and Rob Lamrouex, cousins Aaron Dodge, Anna Sadri, Jacob Fortman, and Tommy Galli, and special family friends Kirk Liebengood and Jerry Morton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter.

Services were held Tuesday, January 9, at 1 p.m. at Nelson- House Funeral Home in Owosso, where the family received friends Monday, January 8, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will take place Wednesday, January 10, at 1 p.m. at Brevort Cemetery in Brevort.

Memorials may be made to the Shiawassee County Humane Society or Trinity Lutheran Church in Brevort.
