Norma Lucas Norma J. Lucas, 81, of Sault Ste. Marie, died January 3, 2007, at the War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born May 28, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Bernice (nee Shepard) Lucas. She attended schools in Menominee and spent the greater part of her life in the Engadine/Naubinway area. Ms. Lucas was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Engadine. She enjoyed reading. She is survived by her son and his family, Gary and Helen Westerholm of Brighton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers and their families, James and Marcella Lucas of Wallace, Roy Lucas of Elephant Butte, New Mexico, Gordy and Cheryl Lucas of Wallace, and Jack Lucas of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters and their families, Ruth and Lou Parker of Crown Point, Indiana, Nita Sobers of Shelby, and Jean Miller of Wausau, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale, William, Franklin, and Douglas Lucas, and a sister, Elaine Rockwell. Graveside services will be held at the Garfield Township Cemetery at Engadine in the spring. The Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique assisted the family with arrangements. |
